Any of you guy's have any Idea why there is such a large ( 8" Dia. ) brake disc on the 340/S's, ( whereas every sled even the Dator, after that had a 7" dia) could this be something that Deere used from some other Mfg. or from another source?? Like Maybe Kelsey/ Hays being that is where they got the juice brake from?? Rich If the part number starts with a AM rather than a M what does that mean??

Iused the disc from And old cat,but you have to drill the rivet out and use the bolt , the jackshafts are different

Was the jackshaft diameter the same? Any pictures?

I used the disk from the cat and the center from the 340/s. The cat disk is the same as the JD but the shaft size was to small. On the cat the disk is bolted on so I just drilled the rivet out of the 340 and used that center. Because my disk was very pited and rusty. I think it was from a mid 70's cat got it at the junk yard
