This is an AC video, but you'll see Roger Jansen ( no. 52 ) tag another sled at a fuel stop.
I-500

Deere made a great film of the '75 I-500, but it is not on youtube right now. Rainville has been promising to get it put on DVD.

Here's the intro from the HOF induction 2 years ago.

Brian,

I've never promised to get the 75 video on DVD because it already has been done by Guy Cowing (JDGuy). He sent me a copy a few years ago, and it's a pretty nice version. Not sure if he is still making them, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

As far as I know, Deere made CC/I-500 video's for 74, 75 and the entire 76 ICCSF season. Not sure about anything before 74 or after 76.

Aside from racing video's, there was a 1982 Dealer video comparing Deere sleds to the compition, and a safety one from about 75 with "Unsafe Ace" narrated by Edie Albert. I am sure there were others aside from that.

I hope this helps,
-Rainville

I'd be interested in a copy of John Deere's filming of the 75 I-500 video also.

I'd seen it several times on YouTube. All I can say is that Roger must have been ready to explode! He rides his 340S on a mission right to the finish line, shuts it off, climbs off, and heads straight to the nearest race official. He does all this in one contiunous move in about 2 seconds! His march to the official sure wasn't the walk of someone who had competed 150 or 175 mile leg of the 500 either! I sure wish there was sound instead of narration on this part. I would have loved to heard what he said to the official. :silenced: :silenced: Blue :silenced: jacket :silenced: Polaris :silenced: :silenced: :silenced: !

Guy has done the CD work from the original 8MM corporate film that I have of the 1975 race........Roger's thoughts many years later still capture the moment! I still have a hard time with 1 second between us over 600 miles....unreal! Now about the 2 lead Polarisis's...........JRC

Rainville stated earlier that Deere produced a 1976 I-500 race video... Does anyone have a copy of this? I have the 1975 race and it is a well produced film, and I'm curious as to how the 1976 video was.

75 Race Movie

Jon loaned me a disc a couple of years ago. It had to be resurfaced before it would run through to the end as a result of too many scratches. I had it resurfaced which worked great, but the store destroyed Jon?s label in the process, so I sent him back a working but naked disc without label.

I will help you guys with it, but please understand that I catch flack now from the wife for not enough honey-do work! I cannot camp on the tube and burn a bunch of discs and then play each one to make sure each is good.

So here is my proposal............Let me burn and send discs to two of you. I will post your board names and then each of you in turn take care of two more guys.....you post the board names of the guys you take care...etc......the classic pyramid scheme. I do not want anything for a couple of discs and postage and I would recommend that no one charge for them. Some may not be able to burn discs but that should not be a problem, they probably know someone that can, or worst case, it just slows the build of the pyramid.

How does that sound to you guys?
