Hi Paul. Just to let you know, and others aswell, I just dug into Another Liquifire engine for a rebuild. I always clean the SNOT out of everything. This time I,m cleaning the water jackets in the heads, and was VERY SURPRISED at the amount of casting sand that came out of the passages after all these years. Perhaps this is what buggered up you,re jugs on yours. Just a heads up to everyone. Perhaps somehow some of this entered your engine......Rob.

I dont think Aluminum has sand in it, maybe bits of graphite. Cast/Gray Iron has sand. Could the remnants of what you saw have been calcium from water deposits of the years? Not really sure on my actual problems still to this day. Good point and well taken.
