i get a bog when i let it idle, also if it sits a week it seems flooded, what is my problem?? thanks

You gas leak sounds like a dirty or bad needle and seat. Youll have to decide what is the cause. Start by giving the carb a good cleaning.

Its also a good idea to have fuel shut off installed. Keep the gas turned off when not in use.

As for your Bog....READ some of the posts on clutching. There has been some great information on clutching latley!

if the carb is leaking and i installed a shut off valve would i still have a problem with it flooding from whats in the bowl??

ill try to go through the carb also

make sure the needle & seat is good, replace if necessary, make sure float height is set too.

NO, the fuel in the bowl can't run into the engine if the fuel is shut off to it.
The fuel in the bowl is drawn up into the carb bore during engine operation.

i just went through the carb, the seat had junk at the bottom, needle good
i also found on the floats on of those was bent so it wasent sealing perfect
installed a fuel shut off

so i have been playing with this yesterday and today,
im not satisfied, it runs great untill it gets warmed up, then you get a bog and after awhile you wont have any power, would only restart if you held the throttle wide and it wouldnt rev up ( just like my sportfire) the plugs are a nice tan color and are even,
let it sit and it would run again,
it also starts hard

seems like the crank seals. my 340 trailfire would do the same thing.

i also was thinking maybe cdi, coils, or stator?

crank seals, crank seals, crank seals and oh yeah crank seals.Any time you get a sled and you dont know if the cranks seals have been done replace the crank seals.
I think I have said crank seals enough but two stroke engines rely alot on crank seals and it is cheap insurance.
I dont know how many problems I have fixed by just replacing crank seals so if unsure...

i replaced one last year the one was still good, i didnt have the engine apart
what would be the correct way to replace them, can i just take part of the engine apart?

Get yourself a service manual it it the best way to learn this or anything else you need to know
