Weather...chilly with a bit of a wind
Just got back from a little 3 hour ride. -30 with the wind chill,55km/h winds. My new suit works good as it kept me nice and warm. Only problem was visibility was real bad so we called it an early night before someone got hurt.

Hey Don,last night i went for a ride in the same area the 75 I500 started the first day.WinnipegStPaul9 wrote:Too cold to safely ride here. DA
I think it was just as cold and windy,if your race truck was in the area i would have asked if
i could jump in and warm up.
The cold and snow conditions, remind me of the early 70's,ditches are full and are getting
rock hard.
P.S. and Jon if you read this, what to you call the finger drifts in the fields, when they are mixed
with snow and dirt?----------Bob

BBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRR. Very, very cold here in west central Wisconsin too. Most of the trails are open around here now. We had XMASS at the inlaws saturday and saw quite a few sleds out. Sunday nothing, not a sled to be scene. We got home at 8:00 tonight with 6" of fresh snow and it's so cold and I'm like no way we are going for a ride. So far I got a nice new red Polaris Ripper snowmobile jacket. Duane

The survey says "Snirt"......A Deere racers dream for taking out the competition.....Deere's were born in the dirt, frozen or mixed with snow no matter! The harder the better right Bob! Jan, Jordan, and Nik send the best wishes for the holidays. Jon

Hopefully going out today. Its a brisk 14 F and a little windy. Have to shovel the close to probably 18" off the sled trailer first.

Whew just came in from riding and boy was it fun. Deep powder feels like your on the ocean hitting the rollers. We were the only sleds on the trails also.

Brain,
I drove across a large portion of the state of Wisconsin today and I saw over and over again what you were talking about. All the fields looked like a giant ocean with huge waves of drifts. They would be fun to ride when they are soft but be horrible after they hardened.

They are predicting another 10" or so before Christmas!
This is insane, all I do is plow snow and deal with cold weather related problems.
Soon we will have snow "a** deep to a tall Indian!"

Uhh, Brian, it is this thing called "Winter" isn't it? Or is too much of a good thing?400brian wrote:This is insane, all I do is plow snow and deal with cold weather related problems.
I am also behing the 8 ball a bit, as the 78 CC is down for crank seals and a new trigger and stator (still chasing the darn idle, low RPM missfire), my 340/s is in very small pieces, and my 05 SnoCrosser is still a bare chassis.
But, I've got 2 of the Cat's and Cari's Sprintfire out and running. I haven't seen this good of snow in years, YahOOO!

PS: Rob, the drifts we are getting are small enough to be fun on a late model sled. Might be a rough ride on a Deere, but so far the Sprint is a blast on them...

Geez Bob you and Jon make me feel like a weeny. Ok truth is I don't have a sled to ride!!! Set the engine back in the 340/S yesterday and I'm definately going to have issues with the exhaust system..As I was trying to figure out what to do about it, Patty yelled at me saying we have water running in the house. I ran into our bedroom to see a real nice spray of water coming from the ceiling. I guess it wouldn't have been so bad if we had a sprinkler system and the bedroom was on fire but..................not the case. I guess the 340/S project will take a back seat for a few days. DA

The madness continues........................Gawd I'm glad we can laugh..................... Our dining room light quit working so we had an electrician out to fix it today. Shortly after he left, the washing machine began smoking.......cord pulled........no resulting fire!!! Another repairman, good results again! We truly have a lot to be thankful for including the ability to laugh at our misfortune. Over 40,000 homes in Fort Wayne (11 miles away) have been without electricity since last Friday.WinnipegStPaul9 wrote:Patty yelled at me saying we have water running in the house.
