SLEDS ARE DONE!!!!

Post by deereboy »

I JUST FINISHED MY TWO SLEDS. ONE IS A 76 CYCLONE I BOUGHT OFF EBAY IN MARCH.I FIXED ALL ODDS & ENDS.THEN DISASSEMBLED & PAINTED.DID ENGINE COMPARTMENTS,CLEAN AND SIMPLE.DID ALUMINUM IN BRUSHED FINISH AND THE REST IN SATIN BLACK FOR EAZY CLEAN UP. I REALLY LIKE THE DATOR LOOK.DID BOTH SLEDS IN THAT STYLE. HAD FRIEND CUT MY VINYL STICKERS TO LOOK LIKE DATOR BUT TO FIT CYCLONE & LIQUIFIRE SLED. USED 40% GLOSS BLACK NEW FROM DUPONT ON HOODS THE LIQUIFIRE I BOUGHT IN NOV.OFF OF BIG JOHN FROM THIS SITE.I CLEANED THIS SLED UP REBUILT CARBS AND FIXED NICK NACKS THEN PAINTED.GOT ALITTLE CARRIED AWAY WITH REFLECTIVE TAPE BUT LOOKS COOL AT NIGHT THANKS FOR LOOKING TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO POST IN CUSTOMS AND WILL SEND MORE PICS.

I've been thinking about doing a paint job similar to that on my 1980 Liquifire for a long time (I've been thinking about doing a lot of things, just not getting anything done). Yours is the best looking "vintage" JD paint job I've seen on a newer Deere yet. Very nice job!

Stunning! Absolutely stunning, deereboy! It makes one wonder for a moment, if John Deere might still be in the sled business had they chosen to use the Dator color scheme on at least a few consumer models. Great job on both sleds! I gotta scoot cause I'm getting drool all over my keyboard.

Very Nice. I like your creativity.

Old sleds are hours of entertainment.... then you get to ride them for a little bit.
