Hi all, I just found, with a lot of phone calls, the correct JD paint for the 80 Sportfire. It is called Silver Jubilee (TY6470). It was last used on walk behind lawnmowers until 1998. It is still available from JD (hopefully I just ordered 6 cans). It's a five oz can for around $5.00
So hopefully this helps
P.S. I tried the paint myself and it's an exact match.
