Hi everyone... its been a while... After leaving my recently restored '83 Sprintfire at a buddy's (end of last Feb 08) haven't had the sled until this past weekend... it started right up/runs great, etc...
In my overall "inspection" I did notice the track ran slgihtly to one side. It runs to the loose side right? I know I should know this but wanted to double check.
(pretty excited about not having to wrench on this for hours and just being able to enjoy it!)
Thanks.
Dan

Yes, that is true.
But it can be pushed to one side if the other is too tight.
Tightening up the loose side may make it run centered but be too taught and you will loose performance and wear parts excessively fast.
Ok, I sound totaly confused... before you do any alignment adjustments make sure the tesion adjustment is correct.

If you make adjustments but still can't get it to run straight, check your drive shaft bearings.

Thanks JDT & Matt..
JDT to you point.. I think what you were implying is that it could be as much about tightening one side as it is about loosening the other...good to keep in mind.. I think the knee jerk reaction is to "always tighten" where it could be that one side is just too tight.
OK.. and thanks... will likely do a combination adjustment (loosen one side/tighen the other to avoid overtighening.. will check specs on track tension too.
Bearing felt tight last year.. will double check.
Happy riding.
