has anybody ever heard of a john deere tr 800 clutch? that's what came with my sled (75 jd 800) when i bought it and i can't find anything out about it online. i can't get it to engage and i want to know it it is rebuildable

The TR800 was used on the last of the Liquifires. If you do a search on this page for TR800, you'll surely find out more info. Have you considered putting a Comet 102C clutch on it - that's the style it came with and parts are readily available. As for parts availability for the TR800, someone else will have to speak for that...

is there any other clutches that will work on my sled or would i have to replace the secondary as well?

the tr800 clutch as stated was used on the 82-84 LFs. Parts well they're hard to come by, all thats left pretty much are used. new parts are really scarce. your best bet is getting a 102c comet. clutch and weights are readily available and thats basically what came on it when it was new. as long as the secondary hasn't been changed, it should work fine. basically any secondary will work off the 100 series or JDXs
