Paint will never last. I ceramic coated my Liquifire pipe and y-pipe flat black so it looks original, cost about $140 canadian. The paint might last a season, ceramic is forever, the ceramic coating I got is a lifetime warrenty, if it start to flake or come off, they will re-coat at no cost. Costs more initially but worth it in the long run. Powder coating is not for exhaust, it is for anything else that dose not experience long term high heat applications.

I'm sure that it may not last, but for now it looks good, & that's good enough for me.. Hey I don't want to put VHT out of business, LOL

That vht is some nice paint. Even ceramic will not last. My dads 65 mustang has headers he built, he had them jet hotted. This car has a 302 with some rare Aluminum heads, but its a very very mild engine, so it has fairly low EGT's. The headers have been back to jet hot 2, and are about to go a 3rd time in 5 years. I really don't think ceramic is much better. I've seen dirtbike headers that were ceramic coated that don't last either.

Only way to keep is nice is make them out of stainless, and keep em polished!

powder coating is not recommended. sand blast pipe then sand with orbital sander with 220 paper use black stipping wheel to do weld joints . use high temp barbacu paint 1200 t0 1500 . then if yoou have bake in spray booth after let stand for at lest 1 day .its the best way every 2 years you can re do it but the rust will not or shouild not be presnt you only rescuff and shoot and bake been doing this for years.

What is the best way for me to get old gas out of my sled I'm thinking of just tipping it over cause it will not siphon out.

Take out the rivets and give it a good cleaning, just did my Sportfire tank, had 12yr old gas in it, put in some cleaner and a length of chain, shook it around alot, then took it to the self serve car wash and sprayed the heck out of it. Taking off the tank and replacing the rivets with bolts or just re-riveting will allow you to have a really clean tank and clean under and around the tank. Good luck
