79 spit main jet

i was wondering what the main jet size is supposed to be on my 79 spitfire it is running ruch now that i put a new fuel pump on in and now i wanna rejet it but the the numbers on the jet a gone all that is left is the 0.

If I remember correctly, the 79's had the butterfly Mikuni. These have non replaceable jets and needle jet. They were molded in with the body. Seems the tube would corrode and not work p[roperly. I replaced mine with round slide Mikuni's

Is that really the case, I thought it was wierd that I could not get mine out. Both would turn about a quarter of a turn with a screwdriver but then would go no farther. I thought something was bound up. I wonder why in the part manuals it shows that the parts are (or at one time were) order-able...

all you have to do is pull up on the big part that you can put a big straight screwdriver part 11 in the diagram and it should come out. there are seals on it so it might be stuck. you might have to pry on it allitle first i twisted mine then pulled. the jets are replaceable i have it appart right now. the carb i have is the same as the diagram he posted.

220 is stock,and yes they are removable.They use any standard MIK main jet.The fuel nozzle comes right out of the top and the main jet comes with it ,then you can remove it and change it. Just like the ones used on the late model stuff..

thanks im picking up a 220 230 and 240 then ill have 200 - 280 on hand
