Well my comments may be taken with a grain of salt.

Remember that these vintage sleds be it Deere, Rupp whatever are just an old snowmobile that is not a necessity of life and well being. They are and always will be a luxury and need not be retained in one's possession if they feel things are getting uncertain with your normal income of employment.

I would think in these times we are in right now of the worse economic slump in North America and worldwide for that matter. No one should be pointing fingers at anyone in a difficult decision like moving/selling precious items like these mentioned here. I know we all love these old Deeres and know what they have made themselves and the men that rode them legends. But remember these are only a bunch of fiberglass, rubber, steel and plastic and yes they are replaceable......your wife, and kids and home are not.

I must disagree that one would absolutely know their financial or medical state 2 months prior.
Three examples I have are one friend was told on Nov. 14th his plant would close Dec.31st and move to Mexico. Another was told Dec. 19th his position will become redundant on Jan.30th and be terminated. My wife's friend went hospital for severe headache 2 weeks ago, she was buried this past weekend dying from a brain tumor.

If someones owns something they just purchased 2 months ago and wish to sell it. That is their possession and can really do whatever they want to do.

I know fair amount about yours guys sleds and what you own and what is happening in your hobby life , but know little to nothing about your personal lives. Until you fully understand someone's life situation I say do not judge until you have walked in that man's shoes.

Just my opinion take it as you may and I mean no offensive to anyone. If I have made you feel offended I apologize. :beers;

Sincerely Dave

Dave and Ruppster, you have a good point about our health!!! Who knows what lays around the corner for any one of us?

But, to 'Ruppster' as clarification: While I certainly agree it is every seller's perogative to sell where, when, how, and for as much as he wants, it is also my perogative, and responsibility, as a buyer to ask any and all questions PRIOR to any potential transaction. It's all a part of due dilligence. I guess NO SELLER = NOTHING TO BUY but, just as importantly, NO BUYER = NO SALE. That's WHY I asked 'what is your intent' in this post. While it's important we all remember these are 'just snowmobiles' at day's end, it's also important that sellers value the fact that buyers are considering dropping several grand on these 'just snowmobile' JD products nowdays.

Take Care,
Craig

I really hope Greenwood can sell these sleds and parts and I agree with Ken that it would be nice to see them both go to a great home where they can be passed down from one generation to the next. At least I sure plan on doing that with my own sleds when I'm passed the age where they interest me anymore. And in that sense, they are more than just snowmobiles. At least in my family, four generations ride/rode JD sleds from our old dealership.

I wasn't really trying to offend anyone with my comments---I am sure the sleds will go to a good home--It is just impossible to say sometimes--what will happen in anyone's future and how that will affect the things they must choose to do in their life. What's that old saying about S___ happens!! I just hope the seller can overcome whatever happend in HIS LIFE ( possible job loss or income change)to make him choose to sell his snowmobiles(hobby). Like I said it has happend to me and I can tell you from experience it is not a good feeling. Sometimes involves a total disrubtion in a familys daily LIFE. Much more important than a couple of snowmobiles. I know people are passionate about these sleds -- BUT --Still just snowmobiles---I guess I hope that someone will step up and buy the sleds that way they can go to a good home. But I truly mean it when I say I hope all works out for the seller as he has already made a tough decision to sell . I could really say alot more and speak from the heart--But I think that would upset someone. I don't personally know him but GOOD LUCK JAMIE--hope all works out for you .

I just want to be re-assuring to everyone that yes ask all the questions you want to a seller . But DO NOT persecute them for selling 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months after buying.
My feelings are if this seller wanted to flip this 340/S and make $$ he would and could. But why would he sell a Liquidator too.
Obviously not just looking to flip it or was trying to run the bid price up on ebay.

If someone really wants a something in a ebay auction they must decide what they can afford to spennd and step up to the plate and take a swing !!
Well guy's here your chance a bat again......keep your eye on the ball !

We all very lucky to be able to have the health and ability to play....yes I said play with a least one old Deere sled.
Many people today are struggling to pay bills and trying to keep their children clothed and fed.

Just realize what is important guys....it can all go away very quickly.

Thanx Dave

I too would have to agree. I spent many years collecting only to sell due to health concerns. It is VERY hard to sell what you worked so hard to collect, but finacial stabilty out rules everything else... NUf said

Thanks all for your words of support, and yes it is a a very tough decicion to sell these. I'm not trying to "flip" these sleds to make a dollar, if that is what some of you are thinking, if I was I would hold them until the economy picks back up (years down the road), I will sell for a very reasonable amount. If anyone is still interested you can call me, home 1-905-342-9773, cell 1-905-269-0573. I think it is better to do business on the phone then message around. Only serious buyers will call, that is why I didn't put a price. Have more pics if anyone wants, will not be able to send them until Fri. evening. Thanks Jamie....
