You did say Deere Sled or not. Well I picked up this 91 Cougar 440 Liquid cooled for $150.00. I bought it from a guy I work with who got it from someone else. It had a Broken Plug wire wich led to it having a broken Steering stem. It appears that one of the plug wires broke off at the coil. They then pulled the sled home with a chain hooked in the ski loops, witch busted the cast Piece at the bottom of the steering stem that bolts to the stem to the chassis. The skis were badly bent from the drag home too. Well I replaced the steering stem and both skis, and threw on a new set of 4" carbides. I went through the carbs and fixed the broken plug wire. It has 145 compression on both cylinders with about 2700 miles on the machine. I am at about $400.00 into it right now. I bought most of the parts used. So for once, feel like I made out good on something I bought. It runs like a champ and starts on the second pull no matter what. It even has reverse.

Old sleds are hours of entertainment.... then you get to ride them for a little bit.

My best find last year was an '80 el 'Tigre 6000 that I wasn't even looking for. Called on a Deere but it had been sold. He asked if I'd be interested in the Cat and when he sent pics and price, I jumped in my truck an headed south. My best Deere find was probably the '84 Sport that I picked up before X-Mas. It was pretty nice cosmetically but needed a good mechanical workover(other than the engine which was just rebuilt). It has become one of my main drivers of this winter.
