I guess my best of the year ( was not in a buying mood after divorce) was a 2 piece Liquifire suit, never worn for $75 and 4 NOS stators for my Spitfires still in the bags

I picked up five 00-X's for $50 from a farmer about an hour away from here last fall. One had to be parted, two are done and two more to get to yet.

Did well at swap meets picking up some much needed parts also.

Also found a 71 Scorpion Stinger WT with the prototype Pararail Suspension system in Central Mn for $40.

This is going to sound corny, but here goes. My best find of 2008 was this site. I've been looking for a place like this for years. I could never figure out my Liquifire problem, who new that crank seals would go bad :lol22: . I had no idea John Deere sold tech manuals(which I gladly purchased), I always got out-bid on ebay with 7 seconds to go,I got a new one for half the price. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Heck in that case, my best find was a 2006 Husqvarna TC250 in brand new condition for $2200.

I could have bought a 2004 arctic cat zr for $200 it belonged to the son of the gentleman I bought my 82 spitfire from.He was in the military and had all but forgot about it.I let my conscience get in the way of that deal,I couldn't help but tell the guy it was worth far more than that.I did offer to help him sell it ,at a fair market price  No complete sleds that I didn't pay to much for :D However I bought 2 nos spitfire stators,(in factory sealed boxes) I assume they are in there  for 9 bucks each shipped. My best finds were all the parts manuals and tech manuals that some of you now own.The very best find was A pair of $5 nos AM53191 ski shocks at a flea market in Howard city,MI as most of you know were standard issue on the CC Liquifier ,but more importantly also on the 78 and 79 spitfire.Hopefully,This year will bring me a nos 79 Spitfire hood and $50 340s or Dator! :lol22: Fix em ,so you can break em!----MIKE

Well since I started all this I should post too.

Found this 1977 Rupp Nitro 440 with 330 original miles and sled is all original too. Scored the Rupp coat also.

Then on Dec 30th bought a real nice 1972 600 for a $100. (will get some pixs of it soon)

Thanks very much gentlemen.
I always thought they were quick...until I rode it. It is damn fast.
No bog just right there and pulls hard.
I like to put is up against my 80 Liquifire....I think it may spank it.

Rated @ 84 HP and 375 Lbs.

Kinda was like a kid who always wanted a corvette when he was 17.
I seen them back late 70's and thought love to have that but could not afford it.

And whoops the the 600 is a 1973.

Hey Wheelman. I see in the pic of your 82 Spit is another Spit to the left. Looks like the track is lowered out of the tunnel a bit. How did you do that and how does it work in deeper snow?

My Best find of 2008? Humm...I had several planned and a few surpises...

Best Find: Cari Deerest, wedding on July 26th
Best wedding surprise: Don Amber crashing it!

Best Deere find: 75 340/s with factory glass pan. Seller contacted me for belts, I ended up with the sled instead.
2nd Best Deere find: Helped a buddy prep a Dator to sell, ended up buying it.
Best non-Deere find: 79 Cat IFS Prototype, 1 of 2 built
Best Late Model Find: A never been raced, trail converted 2005 Cat 440 Sno Pro

I guess it was a pretty good year after all!
