Exhaust Question

Post by 427cobra »

Are the exhaust pipes on the 80's Trailfires and Sportfires the same?? I know they are different from the 80's Liquifires and the LF's have the "L" welded on them.

I wanted to know if I could use a TF exhaust pipe on my SF.

Thanks!

I compared exhausts on my trailfire and sportfire and did not notice any specific differences. I don't know that the minor power differences between the A/B 440's would cause John Deere to design a completely different exhaust.

actually the internal design on the liquid/trail/sport series deeres are all the same measurements 340 440 so yes you can. The liquifire exhaust pipes had different mountings.

Exhaust Question

I bought an 80 Sportfire for parts a week or two ago, and it had a LF exhaust. It ran great, I rode it around the yard, parked it, and then robbed a bunch of parts off of it.

Also if I remember the TF and SF both have the same strait weld on the top for ID.
