Your Best Find Of 2008 ?

well I guess it would have to be the 81 Liquifire I found on Craigslist for 100.00. I know I vowed to never repeat this again as somone signed in as a alias and told me I was getting "rather annoying" with the 100.00 LF with the AAEN pipes, but hey, it was a topic that really applies to me, so there!!!! It has been running like a top, have put well over 500 miles on it and have had only a water pump bearing failure. This kind of find rarely happens to me..

I could never figure out my Liquifire problem, who new that crank seals would go bad :lol22: . I had no idea John Deere sold tech manuals(which I gladly purchased), I always got out-bid on ebay with 7 seconds to go,I got a new one for half the price. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. amen brother! Me too, would of been lost w/o this site. I was delighted to see people have such an interest in the JD sleds.

Spitfire79 wrote:Hey Wheelman. I see in the pic of your 82 Spit is another Spit to the left. Looks like the track is lowered out of the tunnel a bit. How did you do that and how does it work in deeper snow?

Jeff
The green spit I call the deep snow special. I bought it that way, it came with three other spits including the 82 and three more parts machines. I didn't ask why it had the custom lift kit, I should have. It does however go a lot better in deep snow than the other spits so I'm not going to change it back it's really fun in 2ft of snow at 35MPH. :green:

I picked up these two on Jan. 31, 2008. They were on Craig's list and I just happened to check it on my lunch break and they were only 5 minutes away. About 15 minutes later I owned them for $200.

I was gonna offer you $220 for them, but it just wouldn't be right for the new guy to come out of the chutes being a wisenhymer.
