eBay selling fee
I sold a sled for a friend on eBay. It sold for $330.00. The crooks at eBay Motors have billed me $100.00 for selling this sled. At the time I listed this sled I did not know this was their fee for selling a "Powersport".
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I do not think this is far at all. They are really ripping you off!
Best to just list in the classifieds.
hope this helps

Yeah. A 30% selling fee is crazy! They should base on percentage up to a certain amount.

thats why if you sell a low dollar sled on there you need to list it under parts and hopefully they dont catch it and pull your auction

As far as I am concerned EBay has gone to s#@*. Last winter it seemed like there was a lot more available, I wish I would have put in an order to a few stores when they were still up and running. 30% is robbery, you would be better taking a hit on the price and selling locally or on a free site.

EBAY's selling fees on vehicles and powersorts items are rdiculous. You can sell a brand new sled and get charged $100 or you can sell one likes yours for $300 and get charged $100. I don't really understand why they can't just go off the final sale price. Like said before, it's best to try and sell it as a parts sled if you can get away with it. Also, if selling a sled or anything else as a parts vehicle, NEVER put in the add that you have a title. They will pull the add no matter what. I listed a car as a parts vehicle once and put that it had a title in the add and they pulled it even though the car had no motor or trans in it. In EBAY's eyes, anything that has a title is not a parts vehicle.

I tried to sell an old off brand sled in the parts category and they pulled it because it was a drivable sled(though only about a $200-300 sled). I sent them an email about their $100 powersports fee and this is what I got back:
"I understand your situation and am sorry for the inconvenience this
removal has caused. Unfortunately, eBay's listing policies do not allow
driveable snowmobiles and other vehicles (vintage or not) to be listed
on the eBay.com site. We have created specific categories for snowmobiles, which can be found on the ebay Motors site at the following URL:
http://www.motors.ebay.com/
The snowmobile categories on eBay Motors are flat fee categories and are
subject to a different fee structure than the parts and accessories
categories. That information can be found at the following URL:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/motorfees.html
I understand that the relatively low value of these items may not
justify listing it with such a fee structure. Unfortunately, this item
must be listed on the eBay Motors site if you wish to list it with eBay.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation, and wish you luck with
your future eBay transactions."
Basically a too bad for you! I agree, eBay has gotten a bit extreme and I've never done much selling on there, but with some of the oddball stuff, it seems like the only way to find interested parties. I tried a couple other vintage sites first, with no response - it was on ebay for about 18 hours and i had a bid and 20+ watchers before they pulled it.

eBay selling fee
Ebay is way out of control, they dont give a sh!t about there sellers, only how much they can soak out of you.So far since I opened up the new store, I have paid well over $2000.00 in fee's since Nov. last year ! (insert exploding head emoticon here). As a sellers feedback gets higher, they say some of the fee's will go down, but i have yet to see that happen.Their new system is BS
If a buyer dont pay,you cant leave them a negative, but they a leave you a neg.
If you dont get paid for a sold item, they will give you your selling fee back, but they will charge you to relist the item
Their star rating is screwed, they say a 4 out of 5 is good, not so, if you get consistant 4 out of 5's, you will be susp. from selling.
Making everyone to only accept paypal is garbage, last time i knew, cash was legal tender in all parts of the world expt ebays world.
Their new system is why so many sellers are not selling on there anymore, just to costly which sucks, just cant everything on there like the old days, just lots of Walmart sellers......
So please guys, please dont forget to leave your sellers feedback.

There was a time not that many years ago that it cost $25 to sell a sled on e-bay. Then it went to $40, than $60, than $80 and now $100.

I Hope that somday someone gets a cheaper, better version of ebay going. Ebay needs some competition.
The old ebay was good. The new ebay SUX.

Old sleds are hours of entertainment.... then you get to ride them for a little bit.

The $100.00 I was charged for selling the sled is nothing more than robbery. I had no idea it was going to cost me $100.00. They should have to disclose when the ad is placed this is what you will be charged do you want to proceed? It is true eBay needs competition.

They do have competition. A year ago, I had hardly heard of Craig's list. Now we are talking about sleds listed there all the time.
I have no doubt ebay's selling fees have a lot to do with that.
