340/S Suspenion Woes

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

This past weekend, Troy had suspension failure including the loss of his front axle on the suspension. Having that knowledge, I decided to look mine over today and WHOA!!! My left front axle bolt was missing and the axle was beginning to slide to the right. The bolts were locktighted (is that a word??) when the suspension was assembled only a few weeks ago. The sled has about 200 miles on it.

I'll attach the pictures of the left and right side.

Blue loctite in a heated shop. Just before reading your post I was considering the wire tie. I just didn't think it would have been that axle. Really shocked me. DA

DA locktightening was something they used to do on chastity belts back in the day.

Way back when We used a lot of red, blue & green Loctite any bolts 3/8 & larger got green & anything we didn't feel we ever had to disassemble got green sleeve retainer..
