JDX8 carb problems

Post by JDman21 »

My sled runs good the only problem is that it runs best when the high speed needle is closed. The needle is like the book says lightly seated. So I messed with both needles and couldnt get it good without the needle lightly seated. It even ran good when both needles were lightly seated. I have the springs in both needles so its not like their comletely closed. If they were completely closed it wouldnt run, right? Could my needles be wrong and its actually fine? I dont want to ride it because I figure something isnt right. Any ideas?

Thanks

They are pretty much closed if the springs are bottomed out not so much the needle is jammed into its seat but very close. I know youve been fighting with this butt there has to be gas getting into the carb someplace if it will run wide open with high speed screwed in.

Also could not using resistor plugs have my plugs burn out easier? I was riding a little today and my sled just died. I put older plugs in and it started right up. Could they maybe just have been too wet?

the plugs wont cause this problem.........and if getting wet with carb set like you have it you have to have a problem in that carb........is the inlet needle seating correctly it really sounds like a stuck open inlet and the motor is sucking the gas right on through
