HOF Vintage Challenge date for 2010

We have had so many folks ask about the date for the 2010 RIDE WITH THE CHAMPS by Modine HotDawg Garage Heaters . The date will be SATURDAY, FEB 20, 2010

For the Vintage Challenge riders, which is getting to be our largest group of riders, know that trail boss Bob Anderson, Jon Carlson, Keith Warning, Joe Rainville, Brian Nelson and Don Amber have been working on tweaks for 2010 regarding their group and support for it. It should be bigger and better than ever. The stories on this site and jdsleds.com have been tremendous. DO NOT MISS THIS GREAT EVENT FOR A GREAT CAUSE................IT WILL BE THE RIDE OF A LIFETIME !

Those entering the Vintage Challenge ride this year will soon be receiving their certificate and those that finished will receive a special certificate acknowledging their great achievement..............their 175 mile round-trip vintage ride.

As this is prime time riding here in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin, please make your room reservations early. You can go to our site for links to the motels and the Chamber of Commerce.

Also....we look forward to seeing you at the Classic Sled Roundup by Arctic Cat on May 24 here in St. Germain, WI (details on web site)

Todd

That's great!

I hate to make statements about what I plan to do, because as the old saying goes:

" If you want to make God laugh, just make plans" :lol22:

That said; I'm hoping to put 2 340S sleds on the trailer next time, figuring that one of the dang things will run! Then again, maybe I should be looking for a three place trailer!

Brian, since you now have the reputation for running the oldest sled, you need to beat that, and ride a '72 green machine.

Hey Guys,

I am going to be making my reservations early, and already told Tim and Nick that they should plan on going next year.

Matt, funny you should mention that to Brian. I told Kevin Campbell that the only thing "better" than running a 75 JDX-8 would be running an 800 with bogies. I think he took that as a personal challenge. Bogies, baby! Bogies...

I am looking forward to riding with you all again!

You guys are terrific! I'll be there and try my hardest to make it a good ride, I also had a great time with you, although a bit shorter than my desired outcome. Staying at the Whitetall was also a great pleasure and I encourage all to make reservations earlier. This is becoming special....thanks Jon

Don, I have no idea how I am going to do both Waconia and the VC, but I am planning to do both events!

Maybe I will even have my 340/s done by then too!

Hi guys
Sounds like I better get rooms reserved also. We should have some awards next year, best restoration job, a small drag race, best overall vintage look (suit & sled) oldest sled to finish, youngest rider, oldest rider, a special award for any Dater that finishes, lol.

Troy has commented that we should restore our '72s and do a "Horicon Homecoming" at some point. I think this is an excellent idea, but right now I've got to concentrate on the race sleds, because Rainville apparently thinks he is immune to having a ski ran up his snowflap! :lol22:

As for Brian's suggestion for a "special" award for any finishing Dator...I'm glad he's the one who said that! :lol22:

Hey Don,

You are off the hook if Guy Cowing makes the ride again. He finished the ride, 70% on his 80 Liquifire, and 30% on a 90's Cat EXT. Oh yea, Guy is 68! I sat next to him after I showed up (late) for dinner. All I could say was "Guy, you are one tough dude!" I do hope you and Bob do the Challenge next year.

Linder, you have to catch me first! :sled: ///......... :sled: :lol22:

Brian, getting a Dator to finish might be the biggest part of the challenge! May I politely suggest either a new Comet or an NOS one for anyone brave enough to try to tame one of those evil machines. Why does Nick Carlson's intro video for Roberts induction into the HOF come to mind...playing "Hells Bells" when Dators show up in the slide show!

I am already looking forward to this ride next year!

Later Liquidator,
-Rainville

Don, that is one classy joint. I am going to have to make up my own name tag for next year: "Hello I am the real "John Deere Joe" Rainville. No really I am..."

You kill me!

I know your tough enough to handle the VC, but can Bob handle it? Buhhhh!
