295/S controls

Post by guitardude081 »

We had a guy bring in a pristine pair of original '78 Jags for carb cleans and I noticed that it had the 295/s style controls. I have a dimmer switch and block from the junk yard, but what models used the tether under the kill switch design. I'm guessing this was an El Tigre and Sno Pro thing. I saw an NOS setup on Ebay for $299.99. Being that at least the kill, dimmer and brake handle are still available I thought that this was a little ridiculous. Just curious on what sleds to steal these off of next time I vist a junk yard.

I do know one thing for sure when it comes to 295/s handlebar controls....NOS AC kill switches 0109-473 are not cheap!
 All of the 295 grip parts have the 7-digit AC part number molded into the back side of them. I believe most of the mid 70's AC sleds used all the same equipment, the 74 El Tigre did anyway.

Just to remind everyone, the new replacement switchs are junk. They do not look the same and do not have a spot to put the teather.
