73JDX4, I will post a pic and the P/N's before this weekend.
Todd, $130 for an NOS recoil sounds kind of high. I have two of those NOS, but didn't think they were worth more than $50.00 if I was to sell one. You can only charge what the market will bear...just image that is the last piece you need to complete your 75 Nitro F/A resto.

Although I agree that $130.00 sounds ridiculously high for a used (or even for a new) Kohler recoil assembly, I also know these things are getting very difficult to find.......so I think $50.00 for a new one would be a heckuva good deal. Personally, I think you could get considerably more for your NOS ones, Joe, because those recoils were used on a great number of old sleds.....Rupps, Skiroules, Mercs, Boa Skiis, John Deeres, etc etc. And they were pretty crappy recoils with not much of a survival rate. The housings/springs/pawls stood up fairly well, but the weakness was the plastic rewind pulley. About 15 yrs back, I bought some aftermarket pulleys, but they were pure junk. I'm not sure if you can still get them from Kohler? Anybody know? In any case, I recall having a Tecumseh pulley in stock quite some time ago which was identical in every respect to the ones used in the 300's and Kohler powered Spits. I ended up selling it to a guy for his Sno Twister and had lost track of the Tecumseh part number. I've spent the last hour going through some old records and I think I might have found the number, but I'm not 100% certain. The number I came up with is 590486 and I scanned ebay to see if anyone was selling one. I found one for sale, however the picture he has is kinda hard to make out. I messaged him and asked if he could email me a better pic and measure the outside diameter. If and when he gets the info to me, I'll be able to confirm if it's the same as the Kohler version. It sure does look the same in the listing from what I can see.JoeRainville wrote:
