actually this sled has been around for awhile. It came back 5 yrs ago. It is not a new model. Scorpion were back in business in 2000-2001 they went belly up right away for reasons i dont know. I think their motors were genesis. They were a kickass sled for a long as it was around.

Just curious if they are in production still...and what's the story on redline? Some day I'd like to go to a dealer and test drive these sleds. I've been hearing about them since Joe and Matt had separate sites. Every time I see pics, they look cooler and cooler.

Hey Guys,

I had about 4 hrs of conversations with one of their engineers when some of the left overs ended up on Evil-Bay a few years ago. I guess PSI stuck it to them pretty bad, as the new Scorp. Corp. paid them $250K to develope a new motor that never got built. PSI handed them the "Genisis 890", and made them change the sled to fit it.

About 16 were built, and they tried selling them for $16 grand each. A few have shown up on Evil-Bay over the years, along with a few parts.

As for technical info, Boss did the seat, a small company in WI did the hoods (I have 4 of them), and the sled was direct drive too. Clutching was a big problem they didn't have time to sort out, as the secondary was huge, but still limited the sled to about the mid 90 MPH range. The primary's were bought over the counter at a Polaris dealer.

As far as the chassis, nothing too ground braking. Typical ergo's and rider position. They moved the front shocks internal like and AFS Cat. The rear suspension has lots of travel, around 15", but 2" of that was sit in. The company moved to MI toward the end, and ran out of cash. The end.

Redline is gone too. I looked closely at there sled at the Big East Snowmobile show in Syracuse a few years ago. Lots of billet parts, few stampings and few parts were made from actual tooling. Reported to have built 52 sleds.

Have fun guys,
