It was factory built for the sleds of the day a dator is 500 lbs. it is not made by deere it is aftermarket. there is no problem with the deere sleds. i think it will only work on leaf spring sleds.
Thanks,
Ted

These were offered to Deere dealers by OTC or some such. We have two sets here, lost them and found them again as well as the two snowmobile dollies.

We USED those rotisseries in the day believe me.

I plan on doing exactly what Ted is doing, upend a dator or two.

The legs look awkward and appear that your feet would always be tripping over them when working on the sled. Have you fellows actually used these. Interestingly enough just yesterday I was wondering if there was such a thing!! DA

Perhaps the legs were a bit in the way, I don't remember. I just know we used them all the time to replace/service tracks, idlers, etc. Also to get the motor a bit higher off the ground to work on (when the sled's flipped right side up of course!) so all in all I guess they were better than propping them up on jackstands or sitting on the ground to work on.

Greg

I think every Deere dealer who sold sleds had these, right Rich? So there should be a lot of them still floating around somewhere. My first memory of them is when we bought the dealership and the shop had 2 JDX8's up on the two pairs
of stands, servicing the pistons!

the front end attaches by the leaf springs. there are 2 V's which you spread against each spring which means you must have the frame springs, spindles in to use this. + the rear grab bar. im painting mine with all that stuff removed
Thanks,
Ted

Coincidentally, I was at my warehouse all day yesterday, (we've sold our entire tractor collection, all 300!), so spent the day
while that location was loaded out and actually took a look at one one of our two sets.

For some reason, our two sets are different colors. I don't know if we bought one initially and then bought another later on or what. I just thought it was odd that they would be different colors.

Rich, we never had the air lift. Later on we bought a hydraulic lawn tractor lift to quiet our tech's grumblings. After using it for a bit they soon stopped using it. So it was promptly sold at our one and only auction we ever had! I've wished I had it back many times that's for sure

You're correct in that one of our sets is gray. The other is not brown, I'm going to have to look at it again now as I can't remember what color it is other than that it's not gray.

I think the dyno is brown, that sounds right. I'll take a look at that too. That's one good thing about selling the tractors, they're taking all the new tires we've had in storage, some for 25 years and guess where some of them were stored? On top of the dyno! So it will be acessible once again in the next few weeks. I plan on taking some pics which I will post.
