Re: Engine work

Post by pjr »

I was able to get back on the engine disassembly today, so I made some progress. :clap: I'm glad to report the crankshaft bearings, middle seals, lower rod bearings, crankshaft, rods and upper rod bearings are in excellent, re-usable condition! :dance: The stator/charging coil and all the rest of the electrical parts tested good, as did the rest of the engine parts also, so we're good there too!

This should make a very nice engine when it's all complete, since it started out as such a good unit from the get-go and I'll keep posting up photos of the progress as I move along. :beers;

Enjoy!!

I spent the morning at the "beach" sandblasting parts and chassis for the Sportfire. The 800 came along for the ride too.

The hood is finally done, add a windshield and it is ready to go. Thank you Mr Rainville for bailing me out with that NOS left side decal.....this one went on much better than the first failed attempt.

You know DA having the engine cover electroplated in 24k gold would offset nicely with all that chrome. :shock:

Whoa Todd!! Great Idea. We just need thousands of more dollars donated. Right now about $20.00 per member that hasn't previously donated parts or labor would finish the project. And of course a new smoked low profile windshield. :beers;

Kevin, we both got lucky, that was the only one of those I had. Glad I was able to help you out. By the way, the suspension parts look much better with a freash coat of blitz black. Good work!
