I think Dave mentioned one time that he found one that would work, but was a little long?

I do have a Kimpex number at the shop Kenny. I'll post it tomorrow for you. Only problem is it doesn't come with bushings. :wall:

Dave you must really not want those bolts to come out. Lock nuts and pinned.

Scott, one little bolt dropping out can make all of your years worth of preparation go down the drain. Why take a chance. Ask Troy Miley....

Scott, the lock nuts and cotter pins are a bit extreme. But it is worth the extra effort and time to avoid any issues down the trail. :brrr:

Cotter pins = 12 cents

Not to mention the wild ride you will take when your track locks up at 60 mph.

A shock bolt just like those in the picture is what put me out of the " 76" I-500, I came into Zimmerman MN. with the rear springs dragging on the track, the top shock bolt either broke or the nuts ( yes we had it double nutted )came loose & the springs let go & I was riding with no spring tension on the rear swing arm with the points of the springs running on the track. I had to pull the suspension out, put the springs back in place & replace the shock bolt, then put the suspension back in, this was the only way I could get it put together. Also this was on the Dator Heavy suspension. It took me about 45 min of rolling around in the snow to get the job done, Once I started out again then the moguls in the ditches were big enough to bury a sled in, the reason I know this I hit one so hard I went right over the next hole & good thing I did because there was a guy & sled at the bottom & I went right over the top of him, I'm sure he said about the same thing I did " HOLY S**t " or something to that affect?? , anyway so when I finally got to Alexandria MN. they said I didn't make the time cut??
That is why after that we had the swing arm chained so it would only go up so far not to let the springs come undone on the Dator heavy & we double nutted & cotter pined one nut on the Dator lite & CC suspension..

Recently purchased a jig that will allow me to drill a small hole in the head of a bolt. The plan is to use this on the bolts for the front shaft on the 340S suspension, then they can be safety wired to the skid. Both Don and Troy had problems with those bolts last Feb.

We will prevail! :usa:
