carb kit

Post by jake wilken »

I have been looking for a carb kit for the 1975 JD 400. It has a 340 engine. Im looking at all the web sites with parts but none of them seem to offer carb "kits" like I can get for my tractors and whatnot. All the sights Im looking at seem just to sell individual parts and not kits...Am l looking in the wrong places or what? Thanks for replies, I know I've been having some pretty ignorant questions....

there are plenty of places to get walbro kits you need to look up the carb type and not a sled type or brand my personal choice for vintage stuff is recleisure.com they have a huge selection of old stuff denniskirk.com is good also but dont have alot of old stuff online need to get there catologe........also any local sled/motorcycle shop that deals with parts unlimited can get you a kit also

For starters NO question is ignorant you would like information just like the rest of us. Does your 75' 400 have a Bendix, Walbro WR/WD, or other carb.? The 75 400 came with bendix 1612.

Any aftermarket store (DK, Shade Tree...) has carb kits. Just look for the application that best fits your carb. (mm, jet size, alloy used....)

Actually, there is not much available from the aftermarket for Bendix. It may be nesscessary to switch to a different carb if you need parts that they aren't making.
