cleaned carb today
Alright I thought it was a bendix carb but its actually a walsbro. I found this out today when I pulled the carb off and took apart to clean and inspect. All the gaskets and hoses appear to be in good condition. I put it back on sled and I can start the sled but it will only run with the choke wide open or even better when its cracked about a quarter. It also smokes a lot but dont know if thats just because it hasnt been run for so long. So when I had it running at quarter choke i tried adjusting the throttle screw the low idle screw and the hight idle screw at different settings to try to get it to run without choke but if you close choke it stalls out. Also if you try to give it gas at any time while its running it bogs out making that funny gurgle sound Im sure you have all heard before. When I started to make the adjustments I started from the settings I read from the carb adjustment on the inside of sled. Now I dont know what to do about the tune up. Should I just take it to someone who knows more about this than me or is there something else I should try. Thanks

It sounds to me like it is not getting enough fuel.
I know some of the guys have reported that they had to go into their carb 3-4 times before they got all the green goo out, and got it working properly.
Is the pump pulling fuel up? If you spritz fuel into the carb while it is running can you get more rpms?
There are lots of other things it could be, eliminate potential fuel problems first.
