You could install the duel carb setup from the early kioritz liquifire(76 -78) series engines jetted using the 340 liquifire specs as a base line. It is a direct bolt-on installation which includes the intake manifold, carbs, and throttle and choke cables and the air box. That will give you a quiker response off the line. To increase the overall mph, change the gears in the chaincase from the 21/39 gear combination setup( 1:86:1 ) to the 24/40 gear combination setup(1:67:1) used in the 440 cyclone/liquifires. If you can find a cheap 440 fan engine( 76 -78 ) install that.

You would have to ask in the classified section or places like Central Snowmobile or Al's Snowmobile. The 24/40 gear ratio consists of :
24 tooth top gear-M66322(john deere part#)
40 tooth bottom gear-M66323
68 pitch chain-M66321
I have seen these on ebay now and then
check this out and email the seller http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
your original setup has :
21 tooth top gear-M66121
39 tooth bottom gear-M65693
66 pitch chain-M66122
