Good News!!
I just talked with one of my suppliers about the kill/dimmer switches. He has 8 of the old style kill switches on hand and he says that he can order as many as I'll ever need. As far as he knows, the $23.99 price stands. I also found out that he has no JD suspension springs on hand BUT, he can still get springs for any sled....yes Chuck even the bogie sleds. They're a dealer only supplier, but I'd be happy to order stuff for those who need it. PM, call or e-mail me if you're interested in this stuff.
The reason this place can still get the springs is because there were 2 aftermarket companies making them, one being LLP which went out of business 10 years ago. The LLP ones were always the ones that I received when I ordered from Shade Tree or Central.

Re: Good News!!
The push in/ push out dimmers are not available. Just the kill switches. I did ask about the push button dimmers and they said that they can't get those anymore, but people have been asking. They've sold something like 150 kill switches in the last year so they will continue to carry them. I did ask about quantity discounts and he jokingly said, "this isn't a swap meet". I took that as a no. They're still cheaper than anyone else's prices so I didn't complain. When I get the first order in I'll post some pics. The pics in the book are black and white and fuzzy, but the connectors do look like the JD ones. Worst case scenario you'd have to pop the pins out of your old connectors and slide the connector over the new switch wires. I'm still scouring my resources trying to find more stuff that is still available. There's still a few places that carry JD aftermarket skis (the thin ones), Walbro still makes genuine carb kits, Some sprockets are still available. I did find a replacement wheel for the 4" X .625 Fire Series steel stamped upper idler. It's plastic with a replaceable bearing. PM me for parts inquiries. I'll try to add to the FAQ about parts availability as I find more cool stuff.

Strange response. What manufacturer/vendor doesn't offer quantity discounts? It's the way sales work.guitardude081 wrote:"this isn't a swap meet"

Re: Good News!!
I have never seen a distributor that gave quantity discounts be it snowmobile or firearms, If your working with a MFG yes I could see it, but usually the Dist. only carry's a X amount of inventory & so they aren't going to do any discounts UNLESS it's an out of production item that they want to get rid of, the days of DK trader are over guys...

I guess it's specific to the industry I work in then. The only way my boss buys anything is if there's a discount.

Re: Good News!!
The only discounts that I really get are either closeouts or monthly specials (usually tires or ATV plows) that usually transfers to the customers. (i.e. 10% off ATV plow kits until Dec. 1) This vendor is really good to work with. They have very competitive prices and it's usually 1 day shipping. They always seem to know what parts interchange to other machines and their vintage sled knowledge is great. The swap meet comment came from a conversation we were having about Haydays. These guys do charge shipping, but it's usually not that much. If I can squeeze a bunch of people onto 1 order, shipping won't be much at all. I remember some of my last DK orders under $100 costing more to ship than the actual parts invoice totaled.
