Modified Invader; Which Pistons? NOS?

Post by gixxer6 »

I am building a modified 440 Invader engine. I am trying to determine what would be the best choice for pistons. I have ported NOS cylinders, milled heads (both done to Aaen spec), and Aaen pipes. I am building the motor from the ground up, and I am wondering what is the best piston choice. It seems that there is quite a selection out there, Wiseco, SPI, and a few others. I have a NOS set that I was planning on using. But being that this will be a mod motor, I am wondering if these are the best choice.

What would be the best pistons to use?

I hate to say this but it'll probably be a reality at some point, I would use the ones that you can replace easily ( Purchase easily & cheap ) & once you have the engine dialed in & know longer risk burning it down then use the best quality..

Just my $.0765 worth

Kenny is right. Go with the easiest to get piston. These motors do not produce a great amount of power even in modded form. Any modern piston is more than capable in handling the power. If you use Wiseco's check the divergence of the squish band and drill the oil holes in the pistons that they describe in the instructions. The Wiseco's would be my choice. Peter

I guess I will run my NOS pistons/rings. If I burn it down, I will deal with it then...
