switching gears
is it possible to flip the gears in the chaincase so that the large one is on the secondary and the small one is on the driveshaft? I'm pretty sure that this would make the sled a lot faster but would it be able to accelerate to this speed? It could be too hard to get the track moving and the engine might not be able to do it but if it could be accomplished that would be one fast jd sled.

You can't flip the gears top to botom. The design of the chaincase would not allow this and the gear ratio would be so high the motor would not be able to move the sled off the line. There are optional gear ratios for most sleds. When you increase the top end, the bottom end suffers and is sluggish.
