Hi Guys,
There has been some confusion over the years about what "Model Year" your sled is vs. the build date stamped on the serial number tag. Every Deere sled was manufactured the summer or fall before the model year. So if your sled is stamped 10/77 for a build date, it's a 1978 model year sled, as it was built in the fall of 77 for the winter of 77-78.
If your Sprintfire was built in 10/81 it would the rare "82" version, but if you Sprint was built in 9/82, it's the common 1983 version for example.
I hope this helps!
