75 Merc S/R 340

Post by podeere »

I just picked up a Merc 340S/R; Mint condition runs good but the track is broken. As far as I know it has been sitting in a barn for a long time, the last registration was in 91. But anyways it is all perfect except the track. The track has a rip in one of the sections of the cleated track. Obviously it needs a good amount of freshening up to look good again but it is all there and it is in great shape. The question is what do I do with it cause I don't want it. I don't know if I should part it out or sell it complete or redo the track and fix it for the kids? What is something like this worth?

Last one I seen sold for about $650.00 and it was semi-restord, so without a track about $500 or so. SOme of the twisters get into the 1000's but not so sure about these.

I got a deal at $250 for my 644 Huricane which is along the same lines as the s/r's. Since it appears to be in good shape I would fix it or sell it. I hate to see a decent fixable sled cut to peices and parted out, but in the end it's your choice.

Spitfire, I don't need any more of those as I have enough trouble with the ones I have. Wayne has tried to sell me those two several times, the last time he was going to deliver them that night just get them off his trailer. Thanks for the heads up.

It seems that the non-Twister sleds don't bring a lot of money (although, the Lead Sleds do alright). It's too bad as they are cool sleds, I have one just like yours. I would fix it up but then again I have a hard time parting anything out.

I seem to recall that the S/R uses the same track as some of the Kawasaki sleds, maybe do a little research to find out though.

You could check here if you want to sell it or find info.
