Have a question,does anyone know if it is a must to have the mikuni 5 layer fuel pump to make a 80 lf run right??Someone replaced it with a 3 layer pump and i know these had a special 5 layer on them.If so does anyone know where i could find one??

The basic difference between the five-layer pump and the 3-layer pump is that the five-layer pump contains an internal fuel shutoff valve. At one time you could buy them at mfgsupply.com, but they have been discontinued. The part number was 07-417. I'm not aware of a supplier that has them. You might luck out on ebay or someone on this site might be willing to part with a kit.
The three-plate pump will work. I prefer mikuni df52-73 because it makes fuel line routing easier. If you were planning on trailering the sled I'd install a fuel shutoff that has an adequate flow rate. Some guys on this site recommend using OEM Briggs and Stratton shutoffs.
