Bid on a car last week on ebay and won so this morning I drove 150 miles one way to go get it with my daughter along to drive it back.
I have never seen so much rust on a car and in the weirdest places.
How does a car rust around the wiper blades?
How can there be no rust along the door bottoms and yet be rusted around the windows?
And smoke?? Seller said burns a little oil. Smoked rolled out the back and across three lanes of traffic.
Took it for a short test drive and people laughed and pointed and plugged their noses.
When I pressed him for the truth he said he puts a quart in every 150 miles!!!!
This should have went bye-bye with cash for clunkers.
But the AC did blow cold....
It is still sitting where I found it.

Re: major disappointment
Todd sorry about the rust?? but around here those go very well in the mud for demo cars. to stop the smoke drain what is left of the oil and buy a gallon of lucas oil treatment. Then add oil to top it off.. She will run like a million bucs.. and quiet too. Did you buy it for resto or just a driver?? anyway good luck. The interior looks super clean or maybe just good pics...

Re: major disappointment
I did not go through with the sale.
I was very displeased with the seller as before I bid on it I called him and he stated there was only one rust hole on the car.
It had dozens of holes including a huge hole in the trunk.

Re: major disappointment
the misrepresentaion of the item in question(the car) really casts a bad light on buying anything off of ebay. Fortunatly you were only out gas $$ and time in this deal.
What continues to surprise me is that there are sellers that do this and think when the buyer gets there. he/she will take it anyway.

Re: major disappointment
I imagine that some buyers assume that they have to take the item if they are the winning bid.

Re: major disappointment
At one point, Ebay really emphasized that purchasing something was a binding contract, but that isn't the case as much any more.
