Wow not a whole lot of snow where you are. There is still traces in the yard and ditch but to dangerous to ride with all the water underneath

went to harbor freight and picked up some goodies today to help the build of my sled, works good for cleaning up small parts, and i also got the rear suspension arm cleaned up, any one know where i can get nos bushings that have the flange on the ends that slip into the ends that the cross shafts run trough?

also sent out the money order for the dual 440 stinger pipe kit can't wait till they come in and get the sections fitted and welded to the chassis

after a couple of hours sketching from a sheet of legal pad i took a picture of the sketch i did with my cell phone then sent the picture to my pc and saved it then out lined all the lines using the paint program that comes on most pc's, went through and colored in each individual piece, i incorporated the lube tank, oval foot rest, and dual stinger pipes in this skecth as well as a coupel decals, even blew up the size of the drawling on the pc and out lined Liquidator in a neon green like the origianls, i plan on using on the sled after i get it painted and assembled, it may have take about 3-4 hrs start to finish but heres a better detailed picture of what i have in my mind for the dator oval clone to look like

Just a comment, :eh: wouldn't you want the lube tank on the left hand side of the sled as that is the side that gravity wants to pick up once you going in a counter clockwise circle??
Also you might want to consider a running deer that is going in the other direction for both sides of the sled

Dustin I can't quite make out that decal... Does it say Beaver Racing?

Might I suggest a sprinting deer decal rather than a leaping one.

the decal says Bacon racing lol, and i will take that in consideration for the lube tank it will be a couple months before i get to building that and figuring out where abouts to mount it, i got the wahl drag skis in today and they are alot stonger as in thickenss wise compared to the older thinner flimbsy ones i had seen before cant wait to see them on the chassis

hey guys sorry for not keeping you guys posted on my progress over the last couple of months, i have almost 90 % of the paint stripped off the chassis then ill start scuffing it down, i recently moved into a new appt with a 2 car garage so i have an area to work on the sled this winter, and college is almost over July 27th is the last day and grad. is Aug. 18th so ill be able to get back to the JD project soon, while i made if home to visit friends and fam. for the 4th of July weekend in NY i took a couple pics of my friends Dator he is working on rebuilding the motor in hope to get it ready for this coming weekend

also a while back i talked about those 2 JD's the 400 and 500 series my uncle had in a barn for a while, and gave them to another guy, well while i was home over the weekend i seen the guys son and he said oh yeah my dad still has those 2 JD's that your uncle gave him, and he said he wants to get rid of them and all the sleds, so there’s the 2 JD's, a 97 Polaris indy (needs a track) a Yamaha, so hopefully here in a couple weeks from now ill be able to pick them up and get them running for the winter and keep them in the family

i was trying to figure out a better way to remove the left over paint off the tunnel after i had used a paint stripper in the jug that you spread with the brush, it worked on but only took off about 70 percent of the paint, so i went to harbor freight and figured i would try some of those 3" Brillo pads that have the adapter for a drill, after abut 10mils of work with the electric drill and the pad it took the old paint and primer off and gave the aluminum a good surface forscuffing and prepping for paint in the future, so that's what I'm gonna be doing tomarrow all day is removing all the paint off the tunnel and belly pan, figured id share some pics because i think that it worked quiet well on aluminum tunnels that will be painted because it doesn't scratch up the surface
