Just so you guys know Deere produced 1,300 Liquifires for 1983 model year. This does pail in comparision to 1980 were Deere built about 8,900. The 82's and 84's were less common at 1,000 and 420 respectively.

I saw the '82 Sprintfire pic. I don't believe that it was an '82. The '82 Sprint had the gas tank filling hole on the PTO side, the only year Sprint to have this. The one in the pic had the filler hole on the Mag side. Also, there looked to be holes drilled in the tunnel for the seat strap. The '82 had no seat strap.
Also, the red reflectors at the rear of the tunnel on the '82's were placed below the decal directly on the aluminum tunnel. On the '83's & '84's, the red reflector was placed directly on the tunnel decal.

Not saying that things couldn't have been changed out but on a quick glance, it appeared NOT to be an '82. Serial # would be the tell-tail on it as usual but the visuals tell a different story.

Joe,
To satisfy my own curiousity, how many '81's were made?

Thanks.

146 1982 Sprintfires built is correct. I am in the process of restoring my second '82 Sprint. Should be done in a couple of months. I also have a third '82 Sprint. That one will need a ton of work but it still can be saved. For some reason, I really like the Sprintfires & Snowfires.

Hi Jason,

Just in case you meant 81 Liquifires, Deere built about 1,800 of them for 1981.

Rob and jdrob were right on with 145 1982 Sprintfires with a 10/81 build date. Deere also produced 175 Snowfire's for 82.

Matt,
Is it possible to get these production numbers added to the "JD Models" section of the website? Some numbers are there but I think many of them say "very few produced." Not a big deal but it seems like this would be handy info to have when searching CL, evil bay, etc. for that elusive "rare" sled.

Thanks.
