So far, John Deere (Corporation) has been a sleeping giant and leaving us "little folks" alone. If we continue to "reproduce" items with their logo they could awaken and eat us for a snack. Nuff said.
Feel free to check out our website www.buscobullet.com for restorations or parts.

jdsnowfire wrote:why not make the decals with the leaping deere on them, and those that dont like it can cut off that end of the sticker before they put it on.
Because it is illegal to use a logo/trademark without permission (licensing, which isn't easy to get).

I'm just not sure how I feel about reproducing this decal. It just seems like it could step on the wrong toes. Just a bad feeling I have on this one. It would be a shame if all of this came to a end over 1 decal being reproduced. Just my 2 cents.

After thinking  about this I agree with Duane, I'm leaning toward maybe we should leave the nostalgia stuff alone? Where would this lead to, what would be next re-popping serial number tags? Some people with other MFG. brands have already done that :bonk: ...
I'm sure that Mother Deere knows we exist & are watching what were doing? So far they have let us alone on reproducing some of the hard to find parts, I would hate to have that come to an end :wall: ...

Hi Guys,

Thanks for posting your opinions. I am amazed at how worked up you guys get over a bumper sticker that was printed by the zillions and given away to promote Deere sleds. My plan was to get a batch done and donate them to Matt to sell to support the site, but not if there are any legal ramifications.

I am doing the necessary homework on what is OK or not for this sticker. For example if I removed the leaping Deere, is it OK to reproduce and sell? Is "Ride the new breed of Deere" still an active trademark, and what if I change the wording and use the rider logo? If there is any chance of drawing negative attention to the page, I will donate a few 340/s tool boxes instead. Hopefull that won't get everyone's short in a knot.

There is also another avenue. "I think" there is only a problem if I sell them, not give them away. Again, need to check on that. So if I make them for personal use, such as my race trailer and such, I can give them away to whom ever I choose. Easy to tell from this crazy thread who wants one and who doesn't. Needless to say, I am going to have fun with it anyway. I think a large one will look cool on my trailer or pick up rear window.

Later Liquidator!

I am quite sure "mother deere" doesnt care about people restoring sleds, reproducing JD snowmobile parts or stickers. They stopped caring about sleds in 84. As long as your not using there logo or labeling parts as "Genuine John Deere Parts" they are not gonna care.

I'd be willing to pay $10.00 shipping for a "free" sticker
