Just an FYI on shipping hoods. I priced shipping an 82 Trailfire hood from Michigan to Indiana a few weeks ago. The cost was $200. The UPS man said he has quoted shipping a lot of hoods, but has never actually shipped one. It's the size of the box that gets ya, not the weight. I can't imagine what shipping to Canada would be.

Not that it will help anyone in Canada but in the upper midwest Spee-Dee delivery is very resonable on oversized items like hoods.

Years ago when Greyhound Bus lines ran though here they were cheap too.
But that was a long tine ago and they do not venture this far into the boonies anymore.

I have never quote FedX Ground but heard they were not as high as Brown.

I'm reluctant to ship for a few reasons. First off, most would gasp at the actual shipping cost. Often more than the hood itself. Secondly, if there is damage en-route then everyone is mad. Thirdly, by the time I spend on those old boxes getting them ready to ship because they are in such poor shape and I reinforce them to tolerate the ship, it plain and simply is not worth my time for the $100.

I understand what you are saying Robb.

And I know the boxes these old Deere hoods are in are very soft.

Don't forget this one. Even after they say they want it and are willing to pay the high shipping there is more. You make or reinforce a box for a hood, let them know actual shipping, and then you never hear from them again.

Been there, done that. Now it's cash in hand before I package anything to ship.
