Interest in Trailfire/Sportfire/Liquifire rear bumpers?

Post by Matt »

Someone mentioned in the other rear bumper topic being interested in rear bumpers/grab handles for Fire series sleds. The Trailfire/Sportfire/Liquifire all show part #M67936, however there is a second part number for the Sportfire - I don't know why as there is only one for the other two models.

Assuming the price would be $30 each for a quantity of 50, who would be interested?

Not sure Matt, but didn't the 80 Sportfire have a chrome one. That may explain the part # difference.

That makes sense. The new ones would be unfinished, so you can paint it, powder coat, chrome it, etc.

As per a Horicon publication entitled 1982 Changes And Improvements, dated July 1981, the Sportfire was to receive black shocks and rear grab handle during a running change update that production year. I would guess that happened when the parts bin for the chrome stuff ran out.

I have one chrome one left and Robb's right, not cheap. $100.00 plus shipping. I for one like the reproducing concept but you guys are killing me with the bumpers. I'm sitting with two 78 used ones and the chrome one and I can't sell them near as cheap as the reproduction ones.

make the chrome ones from polished stainless tubing just as nice and will never rust. It would take some more polishing. One of my co workers makes parts for his harley out of stainless and they turn out very nice.
