Jus picked up 2 Cyclones

I jus picked up 2 cyclones prob enough to make one good sled, Im pretty new to the whole JD thing. Someone put a Kawi 440 in the nicer of the 2, but it did come with the original 340 also. Heres my thing should I put it back together stock sell it as original or take it all apart an try an restore it?? Any ideas an opinions are welcome thanks!

Kind of a coin flip I'd say. No idea as to the value of a 77 with a Kawi, maybe good maybe bad. Can't imagine why anyone did it except for cool project. I'm in Churubusco near Fort Wayne and then we have Wade in Linden and Dan in Morocco. All are Deere guys that you might want to hook up with. All of us are willing to share ideas and opinions. Some you might like, some not LOL.

Ya I have the 340 I will prob put back in, whoever tried putting the Kawi in hacked it up pretty bad. Ya a friend of mine knows Wade I actually spoke to him this morn. Not sure what to do at this point......hmmmmm

Anytime you do a transplant there are always drawbacks. Does the primary clutch line up with the secondary driven sheave? Will the stock belt still work? Will the stock exhaust still work? Electrical issues? These are things I am asking myself after seeing your photos. As far as engine parts and availabilty I'd say you should not have any trouble finding parts for either the Kawasaki or the original Kioritz engine. They are both pretty common.

Just my opinion but if you are not that familiar with JD sleds I would install the factory Kioritz engine. You can get a service and parts manual for the Cyclone to tell you what you need and how to fix or set up the machine. Once back to original it would be a reliable rider. The Cyclones are good sleds.

Kinda funny I actually grew up in Lansing...I'm thinking prob not gonna keep them I don't think i'm going to have the time restore the thing....Arghhh
