dator rear tank parts wanted

Post by 340s »

Hi Guys,

I've had an old rear tank for my dator sitting in the garage since 2008. I just haven't been able to locate any straps (M66640 x 2) that hold the tank on, or the plates that go around the filler hole of the rear tank (M66642 and M66643).

Anyone have these parts and want to sell or trade?

Thanks,
Craig

Craig, at least you need parts that can be reproduced easily..

Hi Kenny,

You have a good point. And the straps are hidden under the seat too so it's not that visible if I had to come up with something myself.

That said, if anyone has some pics of a used strap or pics of the filler neck plates that would really help. I could look at the cost of getting some made if there's other board members in the same boat (and if so, we'd still need a sample).

Just curious, is there anyone else interested these parts for a rear tank? Or, anyone simply make these parts themselves?

Thanks,
Craig

I made my own rear tank ring out of 2 bearing flanges. Its not original looking comparing the 2 but it still looks good. Its heavy duty like the rest of the dator. I will try to find a pic of it.

Everyone's right, just have them made. I imagine mine aren't in the best of shape, seems like I recall the rings being rough to say the least.
I could probably use a set of new straps and rings
