i am looking for a good running KEC-440 motor for my jd 500, would like one that runs, or needs little tinkering to get running, also looking for a good usable seat foam as well

If it is the 440/21, then I have one. I also have a seat with good foam, but needs recovered.

Depending on the year, it should either be a 440/4 (the /4 is not on the tag) or a 440/5. Assuming that it is a 74 because of the top mounted shocks, the correct engine should be a 440/5, however, the 440/21 will fit with only some minor exhaust modifications (i believe)

The serial # decal on the tunnel indicates that it is a 73 so the correct motor is the 440/4.The 74 S/N decals were bigger and had the serial #'s stamped into the decal itself. A kec 440/21 is a direct bolt in if you have the correct JDX 8 exhaust elbow because the mufflers are the same.
