Win a $20 credit at the JDsleds.com Store!

Post by Matt »

I need some creative help with the store - I need a name for it other then JDsleds for two reasons - 1: Deere & Co. is more likely to tell me to stop using "JD" if it's for profit, and 2: I might branch out to other brands at some point. So, I need somethings that's easy to remember, and non-brand specific for new vintage snowmobile parts.

My pick of the best one gets a $20 credit to the store! If I can't decide, I'll put it up for a vote for you all to decide.

I'll stop taking submissions in one week, by the end of the day on the 30th.

Sled shed would get confused with Rich Acre Sled Shed, which if you want to expand to other non-brand specific parts you really can’t have it relate to John Deere, in the name or color. Which I’m having a hard time thinking your heart is in John Deere if you want to do this? I now that there are a lot of parts that will mix and match. I thought that’s all this site is about, and the store. Is the store for helping this site or lining someone’s pocket? Maybe the store should go on its own and be a site sponsor, and not have any affiliation with the site. Just be another Google search for parts. I’m confused???

If you think anyone is making a buck off the store, I'd suggest you try your hand at reproducing parts.

I'm happy to clear up any confusion, but please don't question allegiance my to Deere!

One reason for the name change IS to separate it from JDsleds.com. JDsleds.com is a hobby, bordering on a business because I have sponsors, but I don't make money on it. The sponsors only cover expenses.

The store IS a business, no question about it. I see the aftermarket suppliers are dropping their vintage products all the time, while the hobby in general still seems to be going strong, so there is my market. It wouldn't make sense in the long run to limit the business to Deere only.

So yes, I am going to separate JDsleds.com and the store.
