Anyone doing Waconia again?

Post by SpitfireKing »

Hey kiddies,

Just wondering if anyone is attending Waconia this year? I know it's Rupp...but I can look past the red and still see some green there I'm sure. Wife actually said she wanted to go, so that's a pretty good excuse to go somewhere. I'm not familiar with all the vintage shows and swaps down there...is there another show in MN or in that vacinity that's just as good in late Jan or Feb? I'm not much for watching the racing, but the swap and show and shine part is what I like....maybe some drags.

Thanks guys!

As much as I'd love to I'll have to pass this year. Something kinda cool happened a few months ago though. I got an email from Americinn confirming my reservations in January. I notified them that I had not made reservations and they said "no problem" they just automatically made them in case I would be coming back. That was cool.

Well I won't even know if I can go for 2 weeks, which will make getting a hotel room suck by then..... funny...I was in Chaska last year too S_K....drive that far and still find MB'ers :P

Well I really hope we can make it, but if not is there any other shows later in the year worth attending?

I booked my room two weeks ago and they were starting to get scarce then. I ended up with a suite as all the double rooms were booked already. Darn good price though, even better cause I am splitting the expenses this year.

I'm out for Waconia....I just found out I have surgery the day before we would have to leave and I have a feeling I won't be in the mood to jump in the truck for 7 hours or whatever the next day.....oh well....maybe next year...

Only 6 of us. That's a pretty poor turnout as I know there are a few in the area. Webman, I hope ti run into you at Waconia. If not I will probably see you at Minnedosa. Shane, surgery is no excuse for missing Waconia. If you are well enough to be discharged you are well enough to make the trip. :beers;

I'll be there. Gonna bring a coulpe 295/s to ride and a 84 sportfire to sell and I better bring a rupp nitro to ride also. Staying in Chaska again. That seems to work well.

ya ya ya I know......but this surgery was the last straw on the ol'camels back...I blew up my loader tractor at the end on Nov. and the bills for it's new motor are racking up daily, not to mention I had to buy another tractor to get by, so that hurts as well. But the surgery is very minor so not like a by pass or anything...but I still think I would be better to sit my arse home for a day or two after...let the fluid leak from my head :P

I had big plans to bring back another truck load of goodies, but honestly I haven't touched a sled in months other then my daily rider Apex....I'm trying not to get sick this winter (failed already) and something about hangin out in my shop for hours every night seems to trigger that...or maybe the frustration of vintage sleds...work for 5 days run for an hour...either way....there is always next year and let me know when the next vintage run is on...I'll have to pull out the LF and see how it runs..
