I put a used track on my 80 Liquifire that had studs already in it. I don't know what kind were used. It was 10 years between the time I started working on it till I got it running with the different track. I can't really say how much it really helped because I can't remember how it was before it died on me.

Thanks for the post Nick. The track I got came from a parts sled, I also got the tunnel protectors from it. They are a must if putting studs in.

I have studded my track on a 82 LF as well. We made tunnel protectors and pretty much followed the studding pattern that JD set for that model with some exceptions.

I run Woodys .875" gold digger traction master push through s with no problems, just run the tunnel protectors. I have 120 in mine, and it hooks very nice.
