The only thing I can think of offhand is did you you use grade 5 or 8 steel bolts or just regular bolts? If the threads are stripped on the flywheel I would maybe try to tap them out to the next size SAE or Metric. There shouldn't be any other thing except the flywheel nut and washer holding the flywheel on. Hope this helps some. Mailman

Storm,
Are you sure the lighting coil is bad. Did you test the green/yellow wires with a ohm meter. The reading should be .2 ohms. The voltage before the regulator is greater than 12 volts AC

After you retap holes and get puller back on. Once you have the puller tightened up tight use a hammer and strike the puller on the head you tighten. Do this fairly firm and the flywheel usallly pops right off. However never hit the flywheel itself or you will break the magnets off.

Storm,
I would check everything I could before removing condemming stator ring. There could possibly be a loose wire in one of the connectors.

When you retap the holes on your flywheel make sure you don't go too far in or you will run the risk of bending the timing advance on the inside of the flywheel

No worries there, the flywheel used with the cdi set up does not have the timing advance on the inside of the flywheel.
