I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
What style ignition? coil/cdi or the 83 newer style.?? Mark....
Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
Coil/CDI although I have all the pieces to convert to HSR ignition set up! Would have to crack case to run wire tho. You think its off time?

"""You think its off time""" Hard to tell without listening to it..Do the easy stuff first, unplug the connector for all the switches, any? difference?, Mouse nest in your exhaust? Does it run better without the airbox ? New drive belt?? is it to tight in the secondary? what have you tried already?? did it run ok b4 the rebuild?? Mark.....
Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
Ok well Heres the skinny so far. Carbs were rebuilt professionally last year before the snow. It seemed to run great but still had a wicked bog and would load up and die if you weren't paying attention. Also once this happened or even if you shut it off then forget about restarting it. It will pop on the first restart attempt and then nothing for awhile after that. I will have to make a video maybe tomorrow if the weather clears up. You guys can listen and see for your self. The motor is a donor but was tested after the rebuild and it ran mint. Belt is a season old but it doesnt drag on the primary. No nests either. I have had the limiter and the lighting unplugged and it still runs the same to me. Its driving me nuts!

Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
When it starts, does it sort of sputter to life, idle about 1000-1500, and die when you touch the throttle? I'm thinking flaky CDI box, assuming you do not have HSR. I'm not there, so that's just my guess.

Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
Try starting it with the air box off, does it backfire through the carbs? Also check the freeplay in your throttle lever before and after airbox installation...see if it changes,I have NEVER had good luck with aftermarket throttle cables for the series 2 fire sleds...Mark
Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
Yes Nick you hit the nail right on the head! Thats exactly what it does. I dont have the HSR set up on this sled. Its on my other motor. You think the CDI box is heating up and crapping out? Mark I will try that tomorrow as its going to be nice out. This is my second throttle cable as they keep pulling out of the dam junction. I finally zip tied all the lines together so they cant move. I don't think anything is sticking tho. If thats the issue I might have to try and find a NOS one or something.

Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
If these little gadgets worked than all sled manufactures would have used them.
I have said it before and will day it again... the best place for throttle limiters is in the trash.

Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
You mentioned you have gone through 2 throttle cables. Are you sure your carbs are adjusted correctly when you intalled the new cables.
Id make sure your choke plungers are fully seated when they are installed as well.
How do you know its loading up on fuel?? I'd also try swapping out your CDI.
FYI....you do not need to split your cases to remove and install a new stator.

Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
Good Point Todd. I guess they are Junk!! I think i broke the first one i bought. And the original was modified to bypass the oiler.. It just seems like it does. Maybe its not fuel but spark.. I am not sure of anything at this point. Altho Eric doesn't the wiring get sandwiched between the cases?? I will double check the chokes tomorrow.

Re: I Give Up!!!! Liquifire Problems
You can remove the wires from the connector. They will slide through the case... spray some WD-40 to make things easier. The wires go through a rubber grommet.
Good Luck
