Well its been a long road !

Post by jdrob »

Well i have prevailed ! After searching high, low, and countless hours on the internet ! I found an 1984 trailfire LX . I wanted to share some pics with everyone. She is rough around the edges but, it will go through a complete teardown for restoration ! I have my work cut out for me ! Not sure when it will begin but hopefully sooner than later ! :bonk:. I know you pre-fire series guys don't have much good to say about these NEWER sleds but this is my cup of tea !!
The hunt will also continue for a Nice restorable 84 sportfire ! That will give me all five 84 models !  I am going to attempt to load some pics !

:lol22: :lol22: Jdrob

Ok not gonna work GRRR i will send them to someone to post them! :wall:

Blue and orange never looked so good together.

Or at least side by side...... (pun)

We can't see under the hood, but it looks like a great start for a resto. Not bad shape at all. I agree, I think these were the best decaled Trailfires.

Wow!!! Nice 84!! I'm SOOOOOOO jealous! I passed on one 4 years ago at Princeton because it was in tough shape and he was firm on $500.00. That was one of the dumbest things I have ever done!! Oh well live and learn. I will keep searching. I think the 84 TF is one of the best looking JD color combos. Nice find.

Rob,

Congrats on scoring your fourth 84 Deere. They only built 350 Trailfires, but the Sportfire should be "easier" since there were 371 of them, LOL!

Good Luck in your search, and I hope all is well with you,

OK fellas ! I guess i am turning a new leaf over ! I got 4 of the 5 84 models , And it is time i start restoring them ! I was holding off trying to find all 5 but if I don't start working on them now I might be dead before they get done ! :bonk: The first thing I an gonna need Is a NOS set of tpr panels ! Or if NOS can't be found I would be interested in a very nice beautiful set  .. All and any help will be greatly appreciated !! Thanks Rob

PS tonight I finished tearing down and splitting the bulk head from the tunnel ! I my opinion the bulkhead is junk so i have a really nice donor i will be using !
